You are cordially invited ....
Woodmont Rod & Gun Club Compatriot:
The 143rd season of Woodmont Rod & Gun Club is upon us, February 19-21, 2026, which is also the 119th year since my grandfather, Henry P. Bridges, reorganized Woodmont. I have 18 Gentlemen/Sportsmen around the United States invited; consequently, convivial fine port and cigars are encouraged but will be provided. The War Between the States period band, Un-Reconstructed, from Jacksonville, Alabama, will provide music Friday night.
Dinner attire is coat & tie for Friday night and otherwise comfortable hunting attire. Our After Dinner Speaker is, Vice President, J. D. Vance or Astronomer, Dr. Mark Whittle. We will have evenings with one of them which will be enthralling and intellectually engaging, continuing the speaker tradition which has included such luminaries as: Founder of the Club-Rear Admiral Robley Evans, USN, in 1881, presidents: Garfield, Arthur, Harrison, Cleveland, Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt, Amos & Andy, Babe Ruth, Bobby Jones, Gene Tunney, Archibald Rutledge, Robert Bridges Editor of Scribner’s Magazine and many others. A check of deposit is requested for $1,000, sent to and made out to: David Bridges, 1559 Foothills Road, Callaway, VA, 24067 by October 1st and the additional balance of $1,850 is due by January 1st 2026; Non-hunters $975.
On Saturday morning we will be hunting Upland Game with my two English Setter bird dogs: Tolstoy & Sophia and the Woodmont Labrador dogs. I am personally looking forward to a wonderful and historic hunt, with fine Sportsmen/Gentlemen, and I am looking forward to hearing your great hunting stories of antiquity.
Sincerely,
David Bridges
